The Rise of The Tired and Wired
"Treat The Root Cause, Not The Symptoms"
It’s 8 am in the morning, you’re sipping your coffee and eating cereal bowls. 30 Minutes later you found yourself getting dressed for work without really fully awake. You feel tired but you know you have to keep going. By the time you reach office, you feel a surge of energy having being greeted by your supervisor but the energy drops just 15 minutes later. It all look gloomy and you think it’s just the weather.
Ever feel like that? I hope you’re not going to say yes all the time. But if you do, then this topic is for you.
Fatigue has increased in numbers these days. It seems that our society ages fast and faster. Why? Because fatigue usually seen at older population, which is around 60 years and above. It’s not common on productive ages. The facts that is getting more common means there is something not right in our society or environment.
The tired and wired are closely related to what we know as Low Energy Syndrome. A complex signs and symptoms that indicate the loss of energy by unknown or complex causes. This syndrome hasn’t been popular as Chronic fatigue Syndrome that already get it’s own codex in health diagnostic tools, ICD X.

So, what is Low Energy Syndrome?
Low energy syndrome is different from Chronic fatigue Syndrome. Although both points to tired and fatigues, their causes and point of view are very differents. Chronic fatigue syndrome is also know as Myaligic Encephalitis. This is to describe the pain point where most patients with Chronic Fatigues syndrome have which are muscle and joints pain.

Since the causes seems too complex, not many people who complaint or feeling low on their energy get the care and attention they need. Sometimes they even dismissed as attention seeker or having a weak body so it undermines the need of being looked at and treated as a real symptoms and conditions.
So how we could tell if someone or ourselves have Low Energy Syndrome?
There are signs and symptoms that we can see. And although it’s not going to be the same, the similarity often speaks low energy. Usually a person with low energy syndrom feel tired almost all the time when the condition is already heavy. But when it’s just started or progressing, it’s more of like this:

c. The Real Causes of Low Energy Syndrome
Most of the time when we talk about Low Energy Syndrome, hypothyroid or sleep problems is what comes on our mind. But to get into the real cause, we have to think different. And the way I see Low Energy Syndrome is through the lens of energy productions.
Our body energy produce in a single portions of the cells called mitochondria. This tiny powerhouse lies in all of our cells and play the ultimate role in providing ATP, which is the energy that used to run all of the systems in our body. Mitochondria create ATP from our food, from the carbs, protein and fat. Now, to have a great amount of energy that we need on daily basis, this powerhouse have to be in optimum conditions. If our mitochondria are damage or loss we will have less of energy being produced. And when this happens, every cells and system in our body will suffer from loss of energy and our metabolism will be disturbed. After a while, your body will show the signs and symptoms of low energy syndrome.
To maintain or fix mitochondria health, we need to optimize several things in our body such as our infections level. Any hidden inflammation, any hormonal balance and even our oxidative stress level. Yes, this means we need to rebalance everything. Which then gives us a greater impact on how we are living and not just fixing or reducing our tiredness level.
